Meet Our Franchisee: Bill Schwertfeger

May 20, 2016

Bill Schwertfeger began his professional career shortly after his freshman year of college, when he developed an interest in working for a lumber company in Indiana. This passion drove him to start his own custom homebuilding business, which ultimately suffered from the economic downturn and housing crash in 2008. Temporarily working as a project manager for a pool contractor, it didn’t take long for Bill to realize his desire to return to self-employment.

He plans to use his business experience in his newest venture as he opens a The Cleaning Authority franchise in his home state of Indiana. When looking at franchise opportunities, Bill found The Cleaning Authority to be the most satisfying and offer the most potential.

“I had never considered getting involved with franchising but talking to Matt with FranChoice and Iric Wexler from The Cleaning Authority was an eye-opening experience,” Bill said. “The benefits of the business model exceeded my initial ideas and became appealing to an experienced businessman like myself. The Cleaning Authority, simply put, hands me a blue print and still allows me to bring my own concepts to the business.”

Bill is enthusiastic to begin his journey with the brand and provide a needed service in the community.

"In my previous life when I was consulting I didn't have near the flexibility of my schedule that I have now. Now after growing the cleaning authority at the point where it is, I coach soccer. We do two practices a week for my girls team. I do one practice a week for my boys team. I can go to any school event that I want to. I can take time to go with teachers. I exercise most every day. I work hard but I can come and go on my own schedule. I no longer have to worry about paying for my children's education and we live a comfortable life and it's fun."

"As a female franchise owner, I've learned that success knows no gender. It's about determination, resilience, and the willingness to learn and adapt."
