Meet our Franchisee: Keith and Laura Wisman

February 14, 2018

After working as a controller for the Senior Helpers franchise for ten years, Keith Wisman decided to look into franchising a Senior Helpers location with his wife, Laura. “When we started our research, we connected with a franchise consultant from FranNet. From there, we looked into many business options,” Keith said. “The Cleaning Authority had an appealing start-up cost, timing, and territory availability.”

With his experience in the franchising industry, while working at Senior Helpers, Keith has accumulated great knowledge to use towards their new franchise in Lancaster, Pennsylvania—a perfect market due to it being a growing residential area. Additionally, Laura is a controller who is very knowledgeable about the region due to the time she has spent on the East Coast.

While the couple looked at many franchises, the two were drawn to The Cleaning Authority. “The concept was familiar to me because of the many similarities that its service model has with Senior Helpers,” Keith said. The brand’s franchisee network, along with its sophisticated marketing plan, also made The Cleaning Authority a perfect choice for the couple.

With their new business, Keith looks forward to taking advantage of the opportunity to be his own boss and the flexibility. Due to the adaptable schedule that small business ownership allows, the couple is excited to spend more time with their children while also growing their franchise.

"In my previous life when I was consulting I didn't have near the flexibility of my schedule that I have now. Now after growing the cleaning authority at the point where it is, I coach soccer. We do two practices a week for my girls team. I do one practice a week for my boys team. I can go to any school event that I want to. I can take time to go with teachers. I exercise most every day. I work hard but I can come and go on my own schedule. I no longer have to worry about paying for my children's education and we live a comfortable life and it's fun."

"As a female franchise owner, I've learned that success knows no gender. It's about determination, resilience, and the willingness to learn and adapt."
